Type Locality and Naming

The type section lies on the highway from 2 km east of Niuyan Village of Sanglang to Yakou of Ruya, Wangmo County, Guizhou. It was named by Xiong Jianfei et al. in 1983.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone and Claystone. Composed of gray-black and purple-gray moderately thick-bedded (limestone) intercalated with thin-bedded shales, sparite biocalcarenite, powder- to finely-crystalline dolomites, often with siliceous lumps and bands.

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the underlying Late Devonian Shidaihua Fm

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the overlying Shangruya Fm

Regional extent

Coeval with lower Lingun Fm of more shallow-water facies
